Commercial Inspections

Charming historic building on a sunny day in downtown Buford, Georgia.

Commercial property inspections require many of the same skills as a residential home inspection, but the two are very different. A commercial property inspection requires a specific evaluation of the property to ensure that your business is getting the complete picture of the property you’re buying.

While a new roof on a residential home can cost tens of thousands of dollars, a new roof on a commercial property can easily cost over a hundred thousand dollars. When the stakes are this high, it’s important to be thorough. There’s a reason that a residential inspection will take several hours, but a typical commercial inspection will take several days to complete as I carefully evaluate all the major systems of your future place of business.

It’s important to know that North Carolina currently doesn’t restrict who can and cannot perform commercial building inspections. That’s why having a professional certified by an independent body is incredibly important. I’m proud to have completed Inspector Nation’s level 1 commercial property inspector certification. This certification allows me to inspect commercial buildings up to 18,000 square feet independently, and I can inspect larger buildings with the help of a team of Inspector Nation specialists.

*COMING SOON* I am scheduled for Inspector Nation’s level 2 commercial certification course in May. A level 2 inspector can inspect buildings up to 36,000 square feet independently.
